Shawn Monty, AIF®
Shawn has been providing wealth management, retirement income planning, and retirement plan consulting services for almost 30 years. Shawn is the managing partner of Financial Strategies Retirement Partners, which he formed in 2007 along with Al Gilbert. Licensed in the mutual fund industry since 1985 and the insurance industry since 1988, he holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation and is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative with Commonwealth Financial Network®. He holds the FINRA Series 6, 26, and 63 securities registrations through Commonwealth while also being the OSJ for the branch office. Prior to forming FSRP, Shawn founded Financial Strategies in January 1995.
Shawn graduated from Bryant College (now Bryant University) in 1985, earning a BS in business administration with a concentration in finance. He has served in a number of capacities on the boards of Child and Family Services of New Hampshire, Bedford Friends of Recreation, and the Financial Planning Association of Northern New England. A lifelong resident of New Hampshire, Shawn has resided in New Boston since 1996 with his wife, Marylouise, and son, Michael.

Al Gilbert, AIF®
Al has more than 23 years of experience in the retirement plan consulting and wealth management field and holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation. Al is a partner in Financial Strategies Retirement Partners, which he cofounded with Shawn in 2007. Before forming Financial Strategies Retirement Partners, Al served as vice president and managing director of RSM McGladrey Retirement Resources and as area vice president for ADP Retirement Services.
Al holds the Certified 401(k) Professional (C(k)P™) designation administered by the Retirement Advisor University in collaboration with UCLA’s Anderson School of Management Executive Education. He has also served as an adjunct lecturer for The Plan Sponsor University (TPSU). Al has been recognized as one of the industry’s most influential advisors by the 401kWire each year since 2009. He holds the FINRA Series 6, 26, 63, and 65 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network and is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative with Commonwealth. Graduating from University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business in 1990 with an economics degree, he resides in Hollis, New Hampshire, with his wife, Liz, and children, Josh and Ella.
Debbie joined Financial Strategies as an administrative assistant in September 2001 and transitioned to Financial Strategies Retirement Partners when it was formed in 2007 as a client service manager and office manager. In these roles, Debbie assists in the administrative areas of the wealth management, retirement income planning, and retirement plan management aspects of our practice. She also manages the daily operations of the office.
Prior to joining Financial Strategies, Debbie was employed with a legal practice and with IBM in Burlington, Vermont. After she and her family moved to New Hampshire, Debbie continued working in the legal community until she joined Financial Strategies. Debbie lives in Bedford with her husband, Chris, and has two adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, bike riding, family vacations at the beach, cooking, and reading.
Forrest joined Financial Strategies Retirement Partners in October 2010 as a client service manager. He has since moved into the role of financial advisor, having earned his FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network. He is a Registered Representative and Investment Adviser Representative with Commonwealth. Forrest graduated from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire with a BS in business administration and management in 2008. Having grown up in Amherst, New Hampshire, Forrest currently resides in Manchester, where in his spare time he enjoys running, hiking, and golfing.
Jeff came on board with Financial Strategies Retirement Partners in April 2014. Prior to joining Financial Strategies Retirement Partners, Jeff worked for ADP Retirement Services, where he spent the past 17 years consulting, providing employee education, and selling retirement plan services to small and medium-size companies. Jeff began his retirement plan consulting career in 1980 with The Travelers Insurance group in Hartford, Connecticut, and subsequently worked in various sales and service capacities with Sun Life and Mercer prior to joining ADP. His background of 30-plus years in the industry makes him uniquely qualified for his current role within Financial Strategies Retirement Partners, focusing on payroll integration, sales, and service of retirement plans.
Jeff and his wife, Tina, live in Merrimack, New Hampshire, where they enjoy traveling, golfing, spending time on the Cape, and skiing our New England mountains in the winter.
